Sprocket Shaft Seal Spacer

I tore into the Lil Orange Monster Last night and found that it wasn't the Sprocket Shaft that was Leaking after all. :roll: It was the clutch Push rod seal that had popped most of the way out.Since I have it apart and ordered all of the stuff to change the Sprocket Shaft stuff I figured I would change all of that out since there is some Leakage there.I tried sliding the Shaft Spacer off but it wont Budge.I thought it would just be a Slip fit?I tried Heating a little bit but it still wouldn't Budge.I don't want to grind it off because there really isn't any way to without getting grit in the Main Bearing behind it.Anybody ran into this problem?

Jug I take it this is your T500 you're referring to, those spacers can get tight on the shaft due to an edge forming on the front facing ID. This comes from slack engine sprockets beating the end into a flange shape. This is hardly noticable so dont expect to see a physical bulge.
A common P.O problem of abuse if you ask me, but that doesnt solve your problem now.
You have a few options available to you, besides the mild heat you already did, you can drill or grind a hole close to the end (you may need a carbide cutter in a Dremel for this) so you can put something into the hole to turn it against the shaft while pulling on it.
Make the hole so it falls in between one of the spline shaft wells, this will allow you to make it so it goes all the way through the spacer.
If the seal is out already, cut a piece of stiff card like that from a cereal box and make its OD about 4 inches and then cut a neat hole to fit over the spacer. Pushed up against the casing and taped on with some duct tape, this will keep the metal out while you work on the spacer hole.

Thanks Allan I'll try to put something behind the spacer to keep shavings out of the bearing.I figured something was Wrong and that the collar wasn't Press Fit.
