T 350 pistons/rings/barrels

Post by Whenu »

Hi all, my 1971 t350 is on the o/size pistons but is pretty worn.
Does anyone have any recommendations for piston replacement or know where a set of std oro/size barrels might be acquired, cheers

Barrels is a slang term for cylinders. Sometimes called jugs.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

From my understanding, not that it matters I guess, cylinder barrels is the correct and full name, cylinder sleeve is the correct name for the inserts, remember a sleeve can be used for many applications so in our case it is a "cylinder" sleeve, and the barrel is what the cylinder sleeve sits in.
So choke on that

"choke on that" or "go enrich yourself". No choke on a GT, it's an enricher...But that doesn't have quite the same punch does it.

On another forum a lot of the car guys refer to the barrels as the "head". Probably because that's where the ports are usually hiding I guess. They're a strange Mob.

Hmmm barrels on cars are usually called "blocks" since it usually resembles a block shape for the cylinder/upper crankcase assembly casted into one piece.
Heads are just that, the cylinder head which is the part of the engine above the head gasket, those car guys you know Richard are a strange and weird mob indeed.
Two strokes, its just that simple.
