Rubber mounting the engine?
Anyone tried to isolate the engine from the frame to cut down on the vibrations?

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
T >500 have the rubber mounting bushes not that they are any good! even if you renew them was going to try if I could get some teflon washers in between the frame and engine.

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
Some persons have adapted GT750 bushings into T500 engines, this can be done but needs different engine bolts and adapters added to reduce the holes in the frame ears as well.

Hi 87m6chris doesn’t matter 68-77 were all the same
PEDRO, My GT500 crank has just been done new seals etc. and balanced. So I renewed the bushings but from about 5000 rev's you feel a vibration on the foot pegs.

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
I put Honda CB750F 80 series footpegs on my 68 Cobra and that helps 100% in the foot department.

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
I just checked, they are 12mm, so that means just counter boring the engine block to acceptPEDRO wrote:
Jim, the only problem with that bit on muzza's terrific site is its total nonsense as T/GT500 engine bolts are already 12mm not 14 as stated.

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
I did thought of drilling out the foot peg frame and make my own bushings etc .
but I couldn't get hold of two f/peg frame to experiment and later sold my bike .

Re: Rubber mounting the engine?
One of the best things I found on racing the T500s is to not put so much of your weight on the pegs, this in itself can numb your feet something fierce. I move around a lot on the bike to help turn it.
