I was piddling around the garage this weekend. I looked over the Mighty Buffalo, I looked over the RE5 and got an idea.....

There was also a tailsection from a GS1100 on the shelf...

The RE5 tank is a bit slimmer than the Gt tanks so that would pull off a different look .

the entire bike will be parted out. It is too far gone for me to restore. If there are parts you are looking for, let me know, I need cash for the Buffalo.

The RE5 tank is narrower and about 2"longer. This creates some fitment issues at the rear of the tank due to the frame widening at the point that the rear of the tank rests. I'd have to work out something to hold it down and keep it off my new paint. The front of the tank angles back at a sharper angle allowing for more turning radius before the triple clamps hit the tank.

I may have to put a little more thought into this and work up some solutions. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

Does anyone have a set of side covers they would like to part with?

I'd like the radiator/oil cooler unit if it is in good shape and not damaged. The gauges if they are the opposite of what Allan needs---more like buffalo but not quite the same.

The keys and all the locksets would be nice too.

Early Buffalo or later Buffalo?
Late Sir.

The condition is not real important since I will be refinishing them.

The gauges were the cylinder type. but they are in sad shape. The cover has been broken off and it is badly weathered.

As far as the dash, it looks like someone took a ball bat to the dash and the headlight.

The radiator and such appear to be undamaged.

I was hoping for both complete assemblies including the oil cooler protector, fans and shrouds....
