There was an optional listing shown in some of the Buffalo parts books for a steering damper similar to the Titan one but the lower mounting friction assembly was setup a bit different.
The Titan uses a threaded collar (lower left in your pic) for the friction yokes to fit into and therefore the frame had the part for it to be threaded into. The Buffalo frame doesnt have that feature so you will have to 'adjust' the frame to suit it by welding on a nut etc.

Mick, I like the old works bikes from the sixties look, but a friction damper is not all that effective. They have maximum friction at slow speed and less when they are needed - to damp out higher speed oscillations.
A hydraulic damper is much more effective. For the period look, get a cheap ie low cost, "Kawasaki" type. We get them from MikesXS.com but you may have a local source. There are lots of more expensive ones around, but that one is a good performer at a great price.

Given this is intended as a cosmetic addition - going back to your original question I think the answer is a qualified 'yes' but it will need some fiddling to make it work. No idea how much though. The parts list for the damper is common to the GT380, GT550 and GT750, but not the GT500 - specifically: parts 7,8 and 10 are common across many Suzuki's including the GT500 and GT750 but parts 3,4,5,6 and 9 are not.
