Here's the thread where I nearly gave up:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3137" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So I finally got around to pulling the carbs ONE LAST TIME. Or so I told myself. "Self, if this doesn't work, we're burying this bike."
Pulled 'em off, disassembled them, and ran them in a sonic cleaner for a few hours with water and Simple Green. Then I blew everything out with my air compressor.
It worked! Seems that there was some debris/junk/crud in there somewhere.
It took a few kicks to get fuel into the carbs and into the cylinders. The left cylinder fired immediately, but kept dying. Then the middle cylinder kicked in. It would run like that, but the third wasn't firing. It finally started up, blowing A LOT of smoke, but quickly settled into a nice, Evinrude-esque idle.
The rest of the bike is pretty much good to go. Oil is getting to the cylinders, the brakes work, and the tires are good. Now then, to let it run for a while and see if that right cylinder stops smoking so much.
I refilled the oil tank with Honda 2-stroke oil. How much smoking should I expect with this bike? It's my first 2-stroker.

Take it for a spin to clean the oil out and then see how much she smokes, shouldn't be much.

Spoke too soon!
Yeah, she still runs, but the right and center carbs are over flowing.
Gonna pull them soon, reset the floats, and put a new fuel filter on. But at least the worst part is over. She runs!

Make sure the petcock works like it should and you have it on run, not prime and check the floats for fuel in them.

Re: She's alive! Again!
If I had a petcock...My tank just has a brass bung attached to it. I've put in an on/off switch in line and plugged up the vacuum line on the carbs.
