Repo Turn signals

Post by markj »

I found this site that offers signals for the GT series. Unfortunately they only have the orange reflector type but you could probably swap orange for red no problem. They are sold in pairs for $56. That's really not too bad if they're good quality. I'm going to get a set and see. This is the only place I've been able to find these.

Mark, I have been looking for some nice signals myself. Reflector color is no issue for me, I would appreicate your review when you get them.

thanks!

I've looked at these (Allan bought some) and they are actually very nice. Note though that they use the short stem for the J and early K models on the front ones, rather than the longer stem found on the later K and remaining models. 8)

I bought a bunch of these and had stated somewhere already the quality was exceptional for the items cost.

Heres what i noticed about them, the splines interchangable sizing is not 100% correct but you can fit the OEM longer shaft onto the bodies for front ones into these units if you have the patience.
Its mostly a plating issue inside the splines on the main body as in they used a decent amount of it, so they should not pit as easily over the years on the outside if this is the case.
There is no sealing rubber in the back of the shaft to body joint at the splines so use your old ones back to keep out the water.
Some of these have no designation marks on the ember lenses and some do, the red side reflector ones usually dont, so make sure you match the lenses per front and rear.
The bullet connectors are junk so you should replace them, they are too small and pull out easily from the wire as well as the female end.
Other than these few issues the price is great for the overall quality of the item.
I'll definately be buying some more for spare stock while they are still available at these prices.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

The quality is excellent on these. Only down side is they're the short stems and only have orange lenses and reflectors. But they're well worth the money. Signals are one of those things that really pop out on a bike. Even if a bike looks stellar pitty or rusty signals make the whole bike look shabby. So I'd rather live with the orange reflectors than put back on the original, beat up ones.

Ok, thanks! I'm not super picky, short stems and orange lenses will suit me fine.

hi Mark,
Finished school Dec 2, and will be working at the Crowne Plaza starting next week as the PM Manager (woot!).

The 380 is still getting love and attention, should have the engine cleaned and polished soon. Then the gauges and paint!

I ordered two pair, they came in, and they look great. Even though I did not specify anything about the two pair, one pair has the wire running through the center of the bolt (yay!) and work for the front, the other pair are slightly different, and the wire exits the shaft before the bolt. That's probably perfect for the rear, since the mounting bracket backs up against the fender and I'm not sure I could get a wire through it. Weird how one pair was different from the other, but worked out perfectly.

Now, I need to get them flashing. Where is the flasher unit mounted? Anyone got a picture? Are replacement flashers easy to come by?

Is this it?

I normally just pick up electronic flasher units from a local automotive supplier - CTC or NAPA. They cost anywhere between $5 and $12 typically and work just fine. 8)
