Vetter Fairing for GT750

I have a GT750-B. I also have several Vetter fairings sitting in the attic. I saw a Vetter fairing mounting bracket for a GT750 on eBay last month. I figured it might not be a bad idea to grab a bracket, in case I ever want to mount a fairing on my WB. It was cheap, so I bid on it and I won it. When I got it, I could see that it was clearly the right part for my bike, but I could also see that I didn't get all of it. There must be some additional braces required to hold the mount steady.
Does any one have a Vetter fairing mounted on their Water Buffalo? If so, could you give me a description of what the mount looks like? Better yet, could you send me a pic? Then I will know what to look for, or what to fabricate.
Thanks!
Jonathan

I have one on my '76, but I made my own bracket.
What I did was unbolt the top of the radiator crash bar, pull it forward, mount a support frame to it using gear clamps and the back of the support frame is itself supported by a couple of struts that run up from the bottom radiator crash bar mount points. The fairing is bolted to this support frame. I had to remove the headlamp bucket completely to gain enough clearance for lock-to-lock handlebar turning. In the photo you can see the radiator crash bar canted forward. Tough to take a good photo without also taking it all apart, but perhaps you get the idea.
If you want to PM me, we can 'chat' off line.

Thanks for your response and for the picture. Clarification - you made your own bracket, instead of using a Vetter bracket?

I could not get a GT750 specific bracket at the time (mid '80's - so pre internet

). As all the Vetter fairings use the same mount plate for the bracket to the fairing, I just snagged one at a local breakers - no idea what it came from - just so I would have the correct mount plates to use as a guide. I used to have a Vetter fairing on my '74 so I had a good idea of how it attached and what it was supposed to look like, and then just fabbed one up for my '76.
So the short answer is - yes, I made my own.
