Anyone know if fork boots from an earlier model GT380 will fit on a 1976 GT380? The 1976 didn't come with the boots standard, but I'd like to put some on my bike - I like the look. Wondering if anyone's done this and could share what fits and what won't. I found some OEM boots $35 per boot off a 73 or 74 model, NOS. Any reason that shouldn't fit? Good price?

Hi !
I believe the fork legs are slightly different on the earlier models, the later ones just had a simple rubber dust cover/wiper setup.
I don't think the earlier NOS items would fit, having said that when I bought my 1977 model P.O. had fitted some aftermarket ones
stretched over the dust covers maybe that might be a better way to go.

To get the boots to fit your later bike, you need the earlier triple tree covers, the chrome trim pieces that the headlight ears sit upon. They have the requires lip that the boot needs to attach to at the top. The fork leg may well be adaptable when you take the dust seal off. The price seems reasonable enough. The fact that they have them is the surprise. I put a set on my RE5, just to enhance the period look, and it did that nicely. Maybe someone here knows the exact dimensional differences between the two models, if any, to get a better idea of the fitment possibilities. Cheers.
