carb surport

hi everyone,i have fitted jemcos/k&ns to my 73 buffalo and was advised to surport the back of the carbs ,
so i have bodged up a sheet metal solution,
has anyone got a better solution.

was going to fab up a box to go were the air box was for misc bits and pieces,
i remember seeing something like this on a thread before (it had a louverd front to and looked a proper job)
if i can make a box up i will pop rivet the surport to it for a better job.

Yamaha used to do the same thing on the TZ with a rod between the carbs and a rubber strap to hang them from. Eventually they worked out that they were not needed.

A solid mount needs to flex as the motor moves., but really, I wouldn't bother.

Nice fab job but i agree with the shake these engines have you may have been better off attaching the support to the top of the engine case instead of the frame so the carbs can move with the engine .

And I happen to think it was best to stick with the stock set-up - but that's just me. :wink:

mark,
i cut lengths of 5/8" heater hose and put them between the bowl and upper case.
