I see that it is still available as a complete part, will that be a full unit I can simply bolt on and go? Anyone ordered one?

Those are complete bolt on petcocks, depends on the model some have had issues with leaking. You may be able to rebuild the one you have....unless you don't have.

Neal, HVC cycle have the complete kits for both styles of petcock, including the hard to find sized o ring for the vacuum diaphragm shaft. This is the most crucial part of the kit as it often overlooked and never replaced, once it gets hard and shrinks the petcock will never shut off.

Check with the local Suzuki dealer first. I bought one for a 76 GT550 last year, and the total only came to $68.90 including tax. The only difference I could see is it has a darker, kind of anodized finish instead of being bare aluminum. I installed it, and have not had a leak yet.
I had rebuild the one that came on the bike three times, including changing the diaphram with one I had bummed from Coyote, and the oring someone else donated, and still could not get it to stop dripping gas out the vent hole on the backside.
