500 T con rods

Post by dinogt »

as I don't find any con rods, I find a con rod more longer than 1.5mm than the origine. The crank pin rest the same, the cage is from a 500cc Stroke and I do machined 2 washer by con rod.

In few days I will have 1mm alloy gasket to put up the cylinder higher, the alloy gasket need 2 paper gasket.
I alsow have 1.2 and 1.5mm alloy gasket for anyone who have squish cylinder top

The con rod longer give less support of the piston against the cylinder, so less friction and less used and more hp.
The con rod origin angle is 76.39° with the +1.5 mm it do 76.54°.
Any one put a shorter one, by exemple a jet sky one -3mm, the angle is 76.08

I hope it will be work, for the instant I spend 20% of my time on the motocycle boring(the rest is another job), the more difficult is that any 500T onwers know this solution ...

Some one can think that the machined hurt to much the new con rod...but this new con rod is realy bigger than the origine, and I can stop the machined either where I do either under the foot rod (at the top)...the strong part is where I machined.
There is not beginning breaking rupture, the machining is well rounded

The shipping is also possible in foreign country, my first con rods and bearings sold has been in New Zealand...impossible to be further.

It's not me who does the alloy washers , it is done with a machine witch cut with water, the more difficult is the schema (plan en français) for the machine...it's too much work, I can't show you (and there, it's already not me but... my sun  8) ).
