Sweet. Is that a Difazio hub center steering conversion? I don't recognize the bodywork but it looks like a later version of "Nessie" and IIRC the Difazios had a T500 prototype.

Nice find. Where is the bike now?

With a bit of a clean up of the rear end styling and the mufflers, it could look really sharp.

sorry, I should have posted info when I posted the picture.

I found this image in the Cafe Racers thread of the Old's Cool forum of ADVRider. I thought the bike was AMAZING, and I wanted to know more about it, so I posted it up here.

yes, it's almost certainly a Jack Difazio with some custom bodywork.

I can just make out a UK-style registration plate.

However, I can't see any calipers on the front disks

Hi all,

Difazio's are only 10 miles away from me, located in Frome, Somerset. I used to know the guy who actually built the Difazio Hub-centre steerers a chap by the name of Trevor Burrage (Sp?) R.I.P. I did a couple of club racers on a bike built by Trev which utilised a Glass Fibre monocouque frame and you can guess what colour the gel coat was as it was nick-named the "Flying Banana". The exact same colour of this special, maybe Trev liberated the excess supplies after building this one :D .

He was part of a small team that developed and built the production moulds for the Marcos kit car and he really knew his way around Glass Fibre. The style of this special is very similar to the Flying Banana although it used conventional ex-TZ250 forks etc. Shame I have no photos.

Cheers Zunspec

I saw a DiFazio GT750 with sidecar at Barber Motorsports one year. The Barber gang bought it from the owner on the spot! It hasn't made it into the museum yet, though.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........
