Hello
okay maybe a subject thats beaten as much as "the oil thread" but here goes.
I have a t500 motor (72) that I have in a bultaco pursang frame!
the motor was basically a core motor and needs a rebiuld, what I would like is a source for crank seals, I have lurked and followed links but either recieved dead end or no response.
could someone give me a good current source for these
thanks Roger Landberg

I think the only seal that is not still available directly from Suzuki in the USA at least, is part number 09283-35002 - and you may be able to get that one from the Suzuki T and GT Parts site in The Netherlands. He currently shows stock of 1. Your other possible source is Reiner in Germany - he shows stock in his October list and his email is gtreiner1@aol.com.

The one seal you can't get from your local dealer is also available from Robinson's Foundry in the UK:
http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/shop/ ... index.html
I've found the other three crank seals at:
www.ronayers.com
and don't forget to order the four O-rings that go around the bearings as well.

With the exception of 09283-35002 which I flagged previously, they show as good numbers at both Alpha Sports and Dillons. If they can't get them, then you have the option of Robinsons Foundry, T and GT, or Reiner (plus others I'm sure).hotdog wrote:I tried my local dealer using these part #s
(2)-O9283-30003-seals
(1)-09283-25014 -seal
(4)-09280-76001-o-ring
(1)-09283-35002-seal
they said only o-rings available, nothing else. thanks for replies
Roger
Happy hunting !

Glad it worked out - just to follow up though, did you check with any other USA suppliers ? Jim offered Ron Ayers - for possible future reference I usually buy from Dillon Brothers as I have had really good luck with them, but Alpha Sports is also an option. Both listed most of what you needed as being available, and the shipping cost would be lower than bringing things over from the UK. The other good source for parts is Crooks, also in the UK.
The seal kit I bought for my GT500 actually came from KnK Cycles - best to call him as he doesn't have everything on his web site.

I usually price shop between ron ayers, ride now, and temecula motorsports:
http://www.ridenowocala.com/fiche_selec ... mfg=Suzuki
http://www.temeculamotorsports.com/fiche_select.asp
http://fiche.ronayers.com/
Ron Ayers has had better prices the last three or four times I needed stuff although I have to look up the part numbers on other sites as their fiches only go back to 1978. Plus they will tell you on the phone they don't sell parts for the older bikes when in fact I have never had an issue ordering from the website.
As for your dealer telling you the parts are NLA, I started shopping on-line when my local Suzuki dealer added Ducati and Triumph to the brands they carry and started telling me they couldn't get parts for the older bikes. What the issue really happened to be was their parts counter people couldn't be bothered to look up the superseded part numbers and just accepted the NLA for the old part number. The last straw came when I needed a tube of Three Bond case sealer and all they could offer me was the slow drying Ducati stuff at $25 a tube!!! I went down the road to the Honda dealer and bought the faster drying stuff for $3.50. If I HAVE to hit the parts counter at the dealer, I go in with part numbers ready and make them double check for a newer part number. Even then they are no faster than ordering on-line. Why wait a week for the dealer to get the parts from the same warehouse Ron Ayers will drop ship to my door from?
