Pod filter oil?

I have these pods on my GT550. Right now they are dry. A local mechanic told me to just spray them down with WD-40. That doesn't sound like a very good idea as WD does evaporate. I would think that would go away very quickly with that much air passing through them.
What do some of you use on these or recommend to use? Note that they can not be wrung out.
Man, I never realozed the factory were so crappy. Too late now.

I wash mine out with Simple Green let dry and lightly spray them down with K&N oil made for those type filters , WD40 doesnt stay tacky like it needs too to hold dust and dirt from getting thru

Coyote, I'd strongly advise you to bin those lameazz Taiwanese so-called "filters" and put some REAL K & N's on there if you MUST have that style of filter. The filtering "media" in those low-rent items is only slightly better than a piece of household paper towel. No matter WHAT you spray on there, the "filtering" capabilities are just a joke.......only one step up from rock-strainer
wire screens on a set of velocity stacks.....but it IS your engine, so it's your call.

I have been told that dyno tests show that the generic EMGO filters (like those) actually drop several ponies off the HP. I would agree with Rick, and suggest that you go to UNIs or real K&Ns. In both cases, K&N filter oil works great.
