2010 spring-summer fashion

Post by Triplerocky »

Just finished the painting of the spare tank and sidecovers in "almost" stardust silver metallic, really the paint is a Guzzi light silver metallic from a Lechler chip catalog, seems very very close to the genuine Suzuki paint; anyway, no one has never seen around here a silver GT380 ever since 30+ years 8)

Tank emblems, tank strips and sidecovers' decals comes from Reproduction Decals, very good and professional people.
Tank was first sealed with a local product called "tankerite"....such an original name, uh?

Yes, Allan, the one on the grey bike comes from a "L" model GT380, very comfortable, low and narrow enough to keep the right riding asset, the handlebar on the black one is stock also, specific to the "M" and onward GT380 model... a bit too large for me but useful in the city traffic.
Are those handlebars different or unknown for you?

Its just the ones on the silver bike look very narrow in the space between the bends, but since i dont dig into the 380s too much i dont know all their little differences over the years.
I like a bar with about a two inch rise, nothing more than that or i feel im sitting too upright or leaning too far back.
Recently i got rid of the bars on the Bandit and put on Eurobike style bars, again I used a two inch rise but with a more open pullback, definately feels better.

Oh man, that looks BEAUTIFUL, great job Rocky!

I'd better not show those pictures to my own 380, she'll start sulking :D

Here is the news: I was ready for some early spring rides, new Metzeler Lasertech 110/90 rear, 90/90 front (to TLram1, for knowledgement), but also need to change one ruined bottom fork stud.
Tryed to tear off the right fork but felt some resistance in the way, strange; forced it and the leg cames off, guess what? Inner tube was eated by the rust! Almost 1 mm in deep of steel was missing for 3-4 cm above the bottom yoke where water entered and remained during cleaning/washing.
I fear to tear off the other leg....and I'm already searching two inner tubes.
I would to know some words bad enough to post here
So, once in while, you have to check the fork...and do not wash the bike too many times!!

Rocky i'm trying to understand your English, but i'm lost as to where on the inner leg is this rust.
Is it inside the headlamp ear section just above the lower tree???
