Aftermarket Tach

Post by durgam »

Has anybody fitted up an aftermarket mechanical tach to there GT? Ive seen some tachometers with 5:1, and 1:2, and 1:1 ratio's. Which should I get for my 550?
Thanks

I'm sure someone has the answer, but for a cafe race look, how about a pair of GT750 gauges mounted above the triple clamp like and old BSA.

They can be angled back nicely to look the part, but I don't know what ratio they are.

Or just fit a centrally mounted tacho and use a bicycle speedo.

Im converting to a katana front end. Those apparently had an electronic speedo. Im also fabricating up a 'dash' that im welding to my headlight bucket, like the old airhead bimmers. its clean and minimalist. Since i cant run a mechanical speedo, im runnin just a mini tach. Ill get some pics up soon of what im doing. should turn out pretty sweet.
