Suzuki 2 Strokes

Hello, A buddy & I picked up a '75 GT500 w/ 2600 miles on it, been sitting in a garage since 1981. The plan is to sell it, it's really to nice for me to cafe. It's running great, has a few imperfections from storage, a couple nicks here & there, but in really nice shape. My daily ride is a Honda CB550 & have been a Honda sohc 4 nut for a while having owned all but the CB650. Here are a couple of pics I haven't started to clean it up yet, right now just cleaning out the tank & rebuilding the master cylinder::

It's a '77. Too bad it's missing the side cover and rear signal lights.

It is too bad about the missing side cover, but have the turn signals, they had to be removed to get the seat off. It also came with a Suzuki rear rack & bags tho.

Shame it’s not in the Netherlands otherwise I’d take it of your hands I like the 77 color scheme.

That is a nice example of the bread. The very low miles, though, can work for, and against you. Always nice to find a low mile version of anything, but, 32years of relative inactivity, leaves the bike with a whole list of probable issues to be addressed. The tank and master cylinder is just the tip of the iceberg. The time of year is against you, but you are in a good location with lots of vintage interest around there. The swapmeet in MT Vernon is always a hit, and lots of us lunatics north of the border as well. Victoria, Vancouver, is a hotbed as well. To the original question, I suspect a value of about $12-1500 as is. Very hard to say. Kijiji and Craigs List is free, so go for it. Be interesting to see what others think of it's value. I could be way off. Cheers.

I agree; $1500US would be about right. It's a shame that the GT500s don't command higher prices, but it's just a fact. In the two-stroke world, the GT500 is a pack-mule, not a thoroughbred.

I like them, don't get me wrong, but it won't bring what an H1 will. Of course, if you keep it and do some basic maintenance, it may just be the best sport-touring bike in you stable.
