I think my 380 has an O-Ring around the cable.

there is 2 seal washers in the pump.one on top of the pump shaft and one at the bottom.
I was selling these a couple of years ago but no one was interested so I stopped selling and now being that I no longer own a T500 ,I have no spares at all only grab rails etc, john

Maybe I just dreamed it, but I could swear it was maybe 6 months ago that I bought a new tach cable and noticed it had an actual oil seal in the engine end. The seal isn't available separately from Suzuki, or so my parts guy told me. So I posted the dimensions shown on the seal in one of these forums. I don't remember where I posted it.

Stu

Update - Found it.

Seal

Post by gyrocfi »

If you have a leaking oil pump seal the O ring will not help! the oil will just fill up the tach outer shield. Fix the seal.

Hey Stu, I also had injector oil leaking from top of the oil pump and I ALSO had to find a replacement seal for the upper seal! It is an easy task to pull the pump and change out the seal and Stops the leak. I have a part number for the upper one if anyone wants? (from a bearing shop)

I highly recommend also replaceing the LOWER seal. If you dont and it leaks it will allow injector oil to seep into the Tranny and you will never know unless you notice a slow increase in tranny lub level?

The lower seal is the same one that supports the shifter rod in the crank case cover on the clutch side.

sorry missed your post about the seal, I am out of town till monday I will try to remember send the part number when I get home.

Be sure to replace both seals. The lower seal is avalable from suzuki the upper seal you can get from any seal/bearing place. Dofin
