so 2 of my 3 70 t500 seem to have reversible gear selector and brake. What is odd to me that the one that deosn't allow for it has a serial number that falls between the the other 2. Are they reversible and why were they like that? Also is there an easy mod to allow to have the shifter farther back. The times I did get to ride it I found I was more comfortable on the rear sets and would have to jump forward to shift etc.

(btw, cases are apart in 2 of 3 engines and rebuild is underway as time permits)

Chances are that some past owner may have changed the earlier model shifter shaft with a later model one or Visa versa

Maybe that was because all the British bikes were right hand shift through the early 70's. So if you were used to that setup, you could easily change over to the right side shift. Duno.

As i understand it the design was for the European market where a lot of the racers and road bikes still had right shifting and left side rear brakes.
What i have never seen is a set of, left rear brake pedal lever, longer rear brake cable and right side shifter made for the bike by Suzuki.

Cool, I am gonna change it over so it is like my other bike. Makes it more anti theft as well.
