Just wondering if I am able to order a set of points and condensor for a 1971 T500R thru my dealer? Does the Mother factory still have them available? If so, can anyone give me the part number for the points and also condensor? If they aren't available, are the Sudco ones any good?
Many thanks
Mike

Mike points are still available through dealers but the price per set isnt cheap. The last time i checked on Buffalo points they were about $28.00US a set and you'll need three for that model,,YIKES!!!.
The correct ones for the bikes do show up on Ebay quite often and sell for way less of what one OEM set does.
Again maybe ive been lucky but i was also able to locate OEM condensors for my Titan off of Ebay but im not sure if the dealer has any as i didnt bother to check.
The Titan condensors have two wires coming out of the top which is a departure from the usual single wire type but you could piggyback a second wire on an automotive unit of the right size.

Or, if it was a used part, it could already have been shorted to ground internally. I've seen that happen once or twice.....and then it grounds out your points. Voila....no sparks.
As to your original question, Mike, here are the part numbers:
L/H & R/H points 31440-15020 also fits GT250 and 380 all years.
R/H condenser 31641-15021 also fits T250 and 350 all years
L/H condenser 31642-15022 ditto
