TC250 running problems

Put on new jugs and pistons. It starts but is VERY slow to answer the throttle. Have to keep choking it quite a bit. I have synchronized the throttle valves and turned the jet screws every which way but loose. Tried to test drive it but have to keep the rpm's up too much for new engine parts to keep it going. Real heavy smoke out the left side. WILL NOT even come close to idling. Had premix in it plus the oil from the pump. Thought maybe that would cause this so drained the premix out and put straight gas in it since the oil pump seems to be working ok. Still the same. What am I missing here?? Thanks, Doug

PS: Have bruises on both my insteps from kicking the SOB!

Have found that it IS NOT firing on the right side and it was before. No spark out the plug or the wire. All the wires seem to be hooked up right??

Traced the problem to a bad wire going to the stator. Fixed that and when it's off the rotor, I have 12v at both points. When I put it back on, I have nothing at either point. Tried twististing it all around near the stator when off the rotor to see if it is binding somewhere but still get 12v when off the rotor. Back on...Nothing. Could it be grounding out somehow??

The wires from the condensors to the points terminals??? Had one on upside down so the crimped part was grounding out the right. Simple as that
