more smoke from left cylinder

Post by chainsaw »

on my 76 gt750, a friend followed me home one day and noticed a significant difference in the amount of smoke coming out of the left outer pipe especially when I was wringing it out. you can also see it when idleing and blip the throttle.

any ideas on what may be the cause?

Nope, but lots of them seem to do that. Pinky always smoked a little more out the left. Not a lot, but noticable. BlueBoy doesn't seem to do it.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

The early SRIS systems dumped the two outside cylinders into the middle then they changed it http://www.3cyl.com/mraxl/gt/manuals/gt750man/sr48.htm

Correction Mine is not hooked up per either of these illustrations. This is for the 750. My bike is a 550. The SRIS never changed on the 380 and 550 like it did for the 750. My hook up is:

Left crank to center cylinder
Center crank to right cylinder
Right crank to left cylinder
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Dave,

That's another great link. See the way it says to check the SRIS check valve, using a syringe? Easy and cheap.
