Horn problem soloved

Well I fixed my horn last night. I took the horn apart and found that the inside was totally corroded. The metal disk that fits inside of the windings was almost completely white with corrosion. All it needed was a polishing up with emory cloth. I think it is just a matter of time until I have problems with the control switches on the handlebars for the same reason. Should clean them up now but its hard to tear something apart that is working so I will leave well enough alone for now. ///Pat

How true ! I have started to make the effort when I have the tank off or the headlight open to get in there with some contact cleaner and some dielectric grease on the connections. I've recently done a couple of handlebar switch assemblies also, but like you I don't like to open stuff up unless there is a reason. 8)
