K&N or UNI POD air filter for 69 Titan II
I am wanting to get some POD type air filters. Does anyone have a part number on a K&N or UNI filter for a 69 Titan 500. Thanks ///Pat

Pat one of the problems with using pods on the Titan is the back of the carbs will be unsupported and start dropping, putting strain on the rubber intake boots.
You may have to make a bracket to hold them up, however ive seen some people using black zip ties under the rear of the carbs looped up to the frame rails.
Just so you know, i did NOT tell you to do this,,LOL.

Hi Allan, Sounds like the PODS are a bad idea. Thought I was going to get my first ever ride on a Titan yesterday until I ran into this problem. Maybe I need to head back to ebay and look for a replacement boot. Only problem is I might get another shrunk boot. Waiting for that first ride is killing me!! ///Pat

I'm running Uni pods on my T500. The carbs do droop a little, in fact the left carb actually rests on top of the engine case. So far no sign of damage to the boots, although making a support bracket sounds like a good idea to me.
Be prepared to spend some time getting the jetting right if you go to pods. Mine runs good now but it's really cold blooded and there's a flat spot right off idle that I haven't been able to tune out.
I actually bought a stock airbox assembly off ebay and was planning to put that back on, but I need a new boot and it's one of those angled ones that are unobtanium. So that little project is on hold until I can find one somewhere. Then of course I'll have to do a few rounds of rejetting after I fit it.
One nice thing with the pods - it sure is easy to get the carbs on and off!

I am thinking about inserting a ring (cut pvc pipe about .25" long) into the boot for strength and then using a rubber coupling to connect the boot and carb. I may be hitting the plumbing department of Home Depot after work today. Does anyone see a problem with the above method?
Thanks ///Pat
