Hey fellas,

I am putting my T500 back together. I installed one of the little header connections with the exhaust seal. I was torquing to 34Nm and the flanges on the outside started to bend before it hit the 34nm? To tight? What's the suggested value to use?

34 NM, or 25 ft-lb, is too much for nearly everything on a T500.
Specification-3 list the general torque specs: http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/techb ... %201-5.pdf

Use new exhaust gaskets. A use a 1/4" flex-head ratchet to make sure I don't over tighten bolts like that. (Amateur mechanic here)

My Higgies bend easily too. It’s the way Alan made them. They are lightweight pipes, including the flanges. I found, if you don’t tighten until they bend, they either leak or the nuts come loose. He should have made the flanges out of thicker steel IMO.
