Hi , can anyone help me with the year of my recent purchase GT250
Was advertised as 1980 and log book says 1980 but looking at pics it looks more like a 77
Frame number. 515191
Engine number. 127347
Thanks for any help

engine number makes it a late 'b' or 'c' model - i.e 1977/78
that frame number has got to be wrong though, only the 1975 ramair 250m began with a '5' but that's only got 5 digits, not 6
cheers, dd.

Have limited info. Suzuki had stopped selling GT two strokes in the US before the model was released.
According to this:
http://www.oldjapanesebikes.com/mraxl_G ... /index.php
http://www.oldjapanesebikes.com/mraxl_G ... /index.php
letter codes refers to year by:
K => 1973
B => 1977
N => 1979
T => 1981
1979 VIN starts at GT2502-500011
1981 VIN starts at GT2502-519409

Ok , picked up the bike and had a look
Frame says GT250 515191 looks untampered with
Engine says GT250 88290 different to the logbook
Would be grateful for any help identifying model and year of both as I need lots of parts for both
Logbook says 1980 X7 but it's definitely not , looks like 77/78

Mostly here -
https://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi ... engnos.htm but it appears X7s aren't catered for.
Part numbers here -
https://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm
More stuff here -

And here -
https://www.suzukicycles.org/
Suzuki engine & frame numbers are so rarely the same, if you have a bike with same, be suspicious!
Robinson's are good for parts -

The frames for the original 73—78 GT250 & the 79—81 GT250 X7 are very different.
73—78 GT250 frame
79—81 GT250 X7 frame

Thanks for the help
It's definitely a GT 250 frame
Engine is 76/77 GT250A , 28mm carbs confirm it
Haynes manual was some help too with model differences .
I definitely got blinded by some shiny paint and metal when I bought it

Back in my garage the reality kicks in .
Lots to do , lots of things to find .

Having it easy is boring.... If all the correct parts are there and all you have to do is polish, paint and re-assemble, you might have well just got a 500 piece jigsaw from the local charity shop ...... ZZZZZzzzzzz
Figuring things out and making it into the bike you want to build is waaaay more interesting.
Enjoy
