GT500 Master Cylinder - Alternative to OE?

Hi,

Has anyone found/used an alternative front master cylinder on a GT500 (A)? I'm going to attempt to strip the one I have down but it's resisting at the moment - can't get the circlip to budge and I'm thinking that it might be too far gone for a repair kit.

Cheers,

Jeff

Just look for a single disc installation and use the master cylinder. Lots about.
I've used Bandit m/c on my GT550 with twin front discs (currently ebay chinky ones as I have a hydraulic clutch too!), there are similar bikes with one disc - SV650, several GS models, even Honda units if you want to really upset the purists.

As Alan said, lots of other MCs will work. On my 380, I fitted an MC from a RF600 which worked perfectly with the GT's single disc. I didn't bother looking at piston sizes etc, just bought the MC off eBay (it was less than £20 delivered) and fitted it. Really improved the stopping power.
