What a change

Post by karl pa »

I have been neglecting my GT250B the last few years because it bogs down so bad on inclines.
My GT380B is down with a bad lower connecting rod bearing on center cylinder, My GT500A is down with a bad PEI system, My GT550K has an intermittent miss on the left cylinder, and the T500 cafe sitting position doesn't agree well with my recent shoulder surgery.
So I set the points and timing on the GT250B, I began riding it with the idea to change my shift timing keeping the rpm up. Till the end of my 150 mile ride, the engine cleared out and became a much better ride, I still can't say it's one of my favorite bikes, but at least it was enjoyable.

Oh how I wish I had the space for so many problematic bikes 😂

Each one is just an opportunity to show the world how good you are.

Let us know when you’ve won all the little battles 👍

My GT500A lost the low speed coil once again, that is my forth one in 15 years and this one didn't have many miles on it. They break down and short circuit internally bypassing windings.
Now I ordered the magneto primary coils and new CDI unit from Rexs speed shop, They are advertised as an upgrade from original so I am going to give them a try, plus they are half the price of Suzuki price.

Took the GT250B out today, The temperature was in the mid 50s, The bike ran beautiful which tells me it runs to rich for higher temps.I already dropped the main jets to 92.5, now I need to look at mid range.
