Carb Slides

Stripped out the carbs on my GT380 today in order to free off the stuck slides. Couple of rounds with the ultrasonic cleaner did the trick.
I noticed the middle carb slide is the wrong way around to the left & right. Also the bit of the emulsion tube that sticks up is also the wrong way.
Side only fits in one way so presumably is meant to be like that?

The carb ordering might be wrong.
Start by looking at the number stamped on the carb body near the choke plunger.
Should be something like “331 11M”. See this example on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304471128742?h ... Swe25icByW
The “331 11” is the second part of the carb part number. The letter will be either “L”, “M”, or “R” — that designates the carb location: left, middle or right.

Next, the slides should have the cutout facing the air cleaner.
There are two different slides: one has the groove on the right & the other on the left.
You have a slide/body mismatch on the center carb. Start by figuring out the bodies, then figure out the slides.

There should be a pin in the carb body that orients the emulsion tube. That might be missing on the carb with the emulsion tube in backwards.

Thanks Jabcb,
The carbs and slides wern't in the correct order. I bought the bike as a non runner but didn't think to check if someone had been there before me.

Given that, you should check the jets, needles & other parts too.

If the jets were “cleaned” with those cheap carb tools, then the orifices will be too big. Might also be aftermarket junk from a cheap kit. Dented floats will not provide the correct fuel level.

Yes more fun to come with the carbs I think.
The whole bikes a bit odd tbh.
All the dirt and wear is present as you'd expect of a 50yr old bike but some parts are like someone started to work on it then gave up and quickly reassembled it. A bit ominous!!
