Which T350 Rear Shocks???

The first year T350 and T350-II came with a different rear shock design than the T350J and T350R. So why did they change the shock designs and are they both functionally similar in spring rate? My dad has 2 shocks that look like the ones for T350J/R but i’m not sure if it’s the exact ones. They don’t have any stampings or markings on them but they can fit on my T350-II.

I would try both sets, and use the set that rides the best. If your worried about the looks, don't be, most people won't know if they aren't what belongs. I have GS turn signals on some of my GT and most people have no idea.

Check the length. Some universal shocks are longer than standard for our old Suzukis. They may work ok, but make it hard to touch the floor if you have short legs like me.

think you'll find on the t250/305/315 and gt250 you can only fit shorter than standard rear shocks, not longer because the swingarm hits the rear 'legs' that hold the exhausts on. btw, standard is 300mm eye to eye

Very good point, just had a look at my 250's, your right there is no room for longer shocks, there really is not much clearance with original shocks.

We tried 320mm shocks on the 73 GT250 cafe build & they were too long because of those rear “legs”. Ended up with 310mm shocks, which didn’t have that problem.

Also take a look at the clearance between the rear axles & the mufflers. The GT250 cafe build has Higgspeeds, so I don’t know if that is an issue.

again without looking, my one bike with standard exhausts on it is locked away. but from memory the standard exhausts have a large indentation on the inside, near the back so they miss the rear axle nut and bolt head. you can get the rear wheel off without removing the standard exhausts, but it's fiddly. i've got allspeeds on this 250 i'm building and they fit fine - due to the tilt up at the rear end

Long ago I bought a set of YSS rear units of the right length for my T350 but can't remember the YSS part number. They have worked well and even accepted installation of the upper shrouds from a stock set. They look almost identical to the original units with the shrouds installed.

Both have shocks in the stock length.

I have the Dial-A-Ride Ikon shocks on the GT380 cafe build. Both versions can have a stock look. They are available with chrome springs & covers, and are adjustable with a spanner.

The fitment guide does not list the T350 but lists the GT250.
I have Eco YSS shocks on the GT550 cafe build. The Bravo version is available with options to look stock.

Both pairs of shocks are the same length. I’m most likely going to use the ones designed for the T350R/J, since they have smaller springs since I don’t weigh a lot.
