Is the inner mid brace a half shaped pipe section? if it is then they could possibly be Tarozzi guards from Italy.

There WERE engine guards offered by the factory for the J and K models ONLY under part number 94210-34700 and they were called "front bumper". For some reason, no such item was offered for the L and/or later models....
maybe because of the frame changes to cater for the revised exhaust system ???

Tarozzi guards for the Buffalo, the inner brace is only a half formed pipe, in this photo youre seeing the lower side.

i believe mine only has one brace running from the lower guard to the outer guard and both the brace and lower guard have single radii.
i was in a rush to pick it up and drop at my shop so i didn't give it much attention. that it had them was a bonus.
another thing it does have that i'd never seen before is a right side grab bar.

yea, it was the only pic i could find showing the guard. this one is the dark green.

Hey Allan, some months ago I got a set of three, almost new, silenced pipes for GT380, the guy that gave me the pipes (50 euro

) says are Tarozzi.
Do you know how good they are? Have you some particular setting (jets, air filter, etc.) for those pipes?
Sorry for the hijacking.

No problem Rocky, i wish i could help you but you need to speak to the 380 engine tuning gurus.
I only know of the Tarozzi brand of engine guards simply because i own two sets of them, i didnt know they made pipes too, can you post a photo of those pipes you bought???

Hey, advant, we're not that far apart. Mine is 665XX. What are the odds that after all these years that there'd be 2 survivors ~100 frame numbers apart ?? Cousins separated at birth maybe ???
Right on....on the Forest Green Metallic !!!

allen, i'm sure you know the answer already.
in fact i've only seen three running 550's in my life.
a hawaii green 74, a black 75 and my mutt.

Well if yours is a mutt im sure you'll put some pedigree back into it in no time,, if not, Rick will be visiting you to collect his "cousin" im sure.
Its amazing how somethings are under your nose and you cant get to see it for heck.
Last summer i found a guy who frequents the town of Cochrane just outside of Calgary, and hes got a black GT550, so i asked Rick about it.
It would stand to reason he'd visit Ricks shop at some point for a bike related item,,,,, nope.
Seems this one slipped under his radar, and i just happened to be in the right place at the right time to see it.
That puts my viewing total of running 550s at around five.

allen, when i say mutt i mean my current 550-625xx registered as a green 76 as well. it was an absolute derelict.

this shot was victoria day sunday morning in red livery this year.
sadly the second one is in worse shape than the first.

here's a (poor) photo of the guard that came on my second 550.

rick, after rereading your post i realized my current 550 is in the 500's serial #. 544 to be exact. closer than ever.
