T250 oil leak

Post by karl pa »

Checked my oil tank level and noticed it was very low, Then checked transmission oil level, I think I found my 2 stroke oil  it drained into my gearbox. When I drained the gearbox oil, it had a green/blue color to it.
I guess I'll be rebuilding my oil pump as soon as I order seal kit

A forum member sells the rebuild kit on eBay. Be care with the priming bolt -- it has left handed threads.

I believe he is from Canada, I used one of his sets a few years ago on my T500 with good result, but I must say I am not to comfortable inside oil pumps.
Thanks for the left hand thread advice, I forgot about that

Today I removed the oil pump, and my suspicion was right, the seal at the bottom of the pump has failed after 50 years.
