Have a gouge in the front hub that I want to fill in and then polish to match the rest of the hub. Too deep to grind. Any suggestions as to what to use? Thanks.

Hey Rodent. Yes that is an option, but its pretty small and have to consider the time (COVID) and expense.

The disc hubs appear to be quite rough cast and don't polish easy. in any case you don't see much of it with the disc fitted. I'd fill with two part epoxy putty and spray paint it.
Then again you might be talk about a drum hub.. in which case you could experiment with epoxy putty mixed with aluminium filings maybe.

Yes it is a drum hub which is pretty visible. I might try to mix some aluminum shavings with JB weld or something similar to try to get something that is close in color.

The putty I use is grey to start with adding some shavings/filings will help I'm sure - its called Quiksteel I think. Its good gear I rate it over JB stuff.
