Wanted: wheel hub..

Hi All
Anyone have an unwanted front disk hub knocking about? I have acquired an 18" alloy rim from an MZ as my chrome one is looking borderline unsound (discovered during tyre change).
I'll use mine if I have to but there's a chance I could cock up the wheel build and leave myself high and dry! PM me if you have owt.
Cheers DM

As you didn't say what you actually wanted to fit it to.
I've got a GT550 one you can have.

It's for the 250 so not sure if its the same as the 550 but just yesterday i found one on ebay and bought it.

Ah, a bit of good luck finding that one.
The 550 one is similar to the 750, I understand that the 250 and 380 are similar.

The GT & early-GS disk brake hubs were all the same, except some of them were not drilled+tapped for two disks.
I moved the brake disk to the left side on a 73 GT250 & a 77 GT380 — both were setup for two disks.

My mistake there. We learn something every day. I understood the 250/380 wheels were different to the 550/750s as they are narrower, as are the rims. maybe other bits too (are the wheel spindles same?) There's a blank plastic cover on the non disc side of the hubs, but whether they're drilled or not, I dunno. The part numbers seem to be the same except the 750.
No reason why they should be different I suppose, just a half remembered discussion from years ago.........
Just had a look on Alpha sports and the hub part is different on the 750, but the others are the same.

I know the GS and GT 550 wheels are interchangeable as I've got GS wheels on the GT and the front goes straight in, I fitted a GS swing arm to the GT (straight swap) as the torque arm mount is on the top rather than the GT's on the bottom. The rear master cylinder was a faff too, but that was another issue......

Darn, I may have been a bit hasty.. Looking at the one I bought it doesn't look right. No second disk holes and I'm not sure about the speedo drive.
see listing pics..

a case of fools rushing in? if you want a gt250 hub i've got plenty. all the spokes, rims etc are kaput, so i'd cut those off. if you want one, just shout

another small useless bit of information, the 750 is different, we know that one, but the gt185 and the x7 are different as well. they've only got 4 bolt holes instead of 6
cheers, dd.
p.s. i presume daxman that you've spotted that standard pair of gt250a barrels on fleabay?

Don’t know what that wheel is from.
This pic shows the hub speedo drive for our 73 GT250 cafe build.

Hi All
Here's the wheel.. it's 'roughly trued and I think within a spec of 1-2mm runout. I didnt have a stand but the mudguard bolt holes are M8 and handily placed and can take a bolt that can be used as guide... Thanks again to DD for teh hub. I fitted new bearings but the old ones still looks and felt good! Loads of grease still on the insides..
