Oily exhaust leak Jemco expansion chambers GT750

A couple years ago I bought a set of Jemco pipes for my 1973 GT 750. The fabricator, Jon Easton, did a phenomenal job and I’m very happy with the set however I need advice on a problem I’ve had ever since. I have with oily sooty spooge coming out of the engine head around the exhaust headers. Because they use a bolt-on short inside sleeve, then a spring to pull the pipes overtop I am getting blow-by that then drips down and makes a mess farther back on the bike and on me. Have anyone else run into this a found a way to install gasket material in the sleeves? My old gaskets slip right around the outside of the new pipe so I couldn’t use them. Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't have hardly any spooge if you are using a good engine oil at correct gas/oil ratio. (That last part is the trickster which is why I made a gas/oil ratio calculator to get it right)

I think you have a setup similar to the Higgspeeds on my GT380:

The Higgspeeds were on the GT380 when I bought it. I expected to see the oily mess that you describe. So I smeared a little high temperature silicon on the inside sleeve before sliding on the pipes. Don’t know if it was needed, but I haven’t seen any oily mess.

I haven't tried to remove the pipes since since doing this. So I don't know how much of a PITA its going to be to remove the pipes.

I use a smear of silicone on slide in joints on my GT550 cambers to downpipe joints and they stop any oily leaks. Pull apart easy too. Make sure the exhaust collars have a slight gap when bolted up, as if they pull flat to the barrels, the crush gasket in the port won't seal. Just unscrew the collar on the pipe a turn.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
