Dismantling speedo

Hi all
Not sure of the provenance of my speedo, but it's not from the GT250! I intend to use it thought as it's all I've got and it fits the bracket I have (also not GT250 I've decided.)
Anyway.. said speedo has a bent odometer set shaft so I thought I would take it apart and straighten it . But - how to get in?? It looks like I need to remove the lens but that's secured by a chrome or stainless bezel, and that looks crimped into place and easily damaged by a ham-fisted oaf such as myself.
Cheers as ever - James

hi dax, can you post a photo of the real 250a clocks? i'm sure they're different from the ramair clocks, and i'll see what i've got in my stash

gt185 clocks are similar to what you've described and they are a right pain to get apart. i know from experience.
cheers, dd.
ps, think the later clocks have orange bodies, not white.

Here's two pics of 250a/b/c clocks from a bikes on ebay.. and they're different!
and another..
Mine has a black body, no warning lights and reads only up to 100 mph, I also have a set of GSX250 clocks which I think are the same as X7 clocks and they do have an orange body. They read up to 120 mph
My intention was to run with the speedo only (no tacho) and just make a round plate to mount Neutral, turn and high beam lamps on in place of teh tacho..

Looking again at the one I have at my disposal. It may not even be Suzuki as there's no 'S' logo on the face. It is by N-S though so probably the right era..

Thanks! FWIW this is pretty much the same as the one I have with the bent trip-set shaft.. On UK ebay listed as GT250/350 ??

on the bottom the cable input is cranked at an angle.
