Nasty 750 clutch cover

Greetings,
Will not come free. All screws are out and no amount of mallet persuasion seems to work. It stays flush to the case. Do the two lock nuts in front of the clutch arm need to be removed? Got the 15m one off but the 22m one rotates on the clutch arm. I did manage to pry it some what loose, but it just snapped back in place. Even pb blasted the seal at the kick starter but no luck. Would a small slide hammer be advised? Any ideas please?

Thanks.

The clutch on a GT750 has a PULL rod to lift the plates, so one end is inside the clutch and the shaft has those two nuts to adjust free play and the small one is a lock nut. The trick is to hold the shaft from rotating while the large nut is removed. Try to avoid using vice grips on the end of the shaft because they cause oil leaks.

There should be a slot in the end of that shaft that you can insert a flat bladed screwdriver into.
