GT250 wheel

Hi All

Are the front wheels the same across all models K to C? I bought an ebay item, a bit better chrome than the one I have but
it has no provision for 2 discs and the brake disc diameter is small - 265 vs 275 approx. CMSNL only shows the one style with the hub
that can mount a disc on both sides. Is the one i just bought from a Hustler maybe?

easiest answer to that mate is it's the wrong wheel. how many bolt holes for the disc? if it's 4 then it's probably early x7 or gt185. all wheels from k to a will fit, and 380, and they all have provision for twin discs. not being twin disc, it could be gs or gsx250, but i don't know how many disc holes they have - i've never had one. but gt wheels from 250 up have all been able to fit twin discs

Yeah, partly my fault should have looked more closely at the pictures.. I'll see if the guy will take a return.. Annoying, it was advertised as GT250 but not end of the world.

Update.. The kind eBay seller swapped the 'wrong' wheel - turns out it was from an early RD. - for front and rear GSX cast wheels which I think I'm happy with . The front has the same 15mm spindle at GT (unlike X7) and disc options both sides so I think it can be made to fit. The rear though is also a 15mm spindle so that presents issues.

Update 2: The front Ive been sent is not GSX after all. It's a 19" GS750 etc.. item. Ho hum, might still try and make it fit. Strange how sports bikes in the 80s went front 19" to 16" in a few years before settling on 17" by the 90s.

Update3; Appears to fit without any mods using GT250A spindle spacers and speedo drive. Clock will read low now though!

Suzuki used the same speedo drive on the GT250A and the GT550A, which has a 19” rim. Back then speedos weren’t expected to be all that accurate.

..and lo on the 200th day it was (at last) discovered that the rear wheel from beloved donated machine (was) possessed (by) a 15mm spindle in 17mm ID bearings on the rear wheel and a bodge-ed spacer made from an off-cut off Beelzebub's 19 mm ID tubing...

Both use a speedo ratio of 2240 rpm = 60 mph.

Ah right, so with some careful wheel/tyre measuring and use of pi I could determine which is the most 'accurate'.
