Hi Splant,
The banjo bolts are specific to the job. They are hollow with a hole on one side so the oil can flow through to the crankcases. The only replacements are originals.
Cheers Geoff

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Oil banjo bolts thread size ,
all metric fasteners on suzukis are standard, normal, everyday thread. m4 is x 0.7, m5 is x 0.8, m6 is x 1.0, m8 is x 1.25. then it all changes. after m8. m10 is x 1.25 and m12 is x 1.5. these last two are classed as 'fine' thread. i think it's just so fastener manufacturers can rip bikers off, paying through the nose for fine thread - typically 2 or 3 times the price. anyway, banjo bolts are normal m6 thread, so just use a normal m6 nut on them when pumping your oil lines full of 2 stroke before fitting. rear shock nuts are m10 fine x 1.25. i usually buy the stainless acorn [sometimes called dome] nuts for them, they last forever.

+1
Suzuki used JIS fasteners. As dollydog mentioned, there is one thread pitch for each size.

Re: Oil banjo bolts thread size ,
So a normal banjo bolt m6 with 1mm thread will fit the oil pump inlet? Will it flow enough oil in to feed the 4 outlets? Or does it only squirt oil down one tube out of the 4 at a time ?

Re: Oil banjo bolts thread size ,
hi splant, it's your oil pump that does all that work. there's one inlet, which is the threaded boss nearest the oil tank, that feeds the oil pump. the other two are filled by the action of the oil pump rotating. these very, very rarely go wrong. there's 2 different lengths for the banjo bolts too. the main feed from the oil tank to the pump - and the 4 on the engine - are 16mm long. the other 2 at the front of the pump are 13.5mm long. hope that makes sense?
