Putting barrels over pistons? T500 new rings
Seems a lot harder than rd,s with there being no cut out bottom of the barrels to help squeeze the rings in , is it possible to put pistons in first then put the gudgeon pin in last to finish? Cheers

Re: Putting barrels over pistons? T500 new rings
Hi Splant,
The base of the barrels should have a short taper to their inside edge. I have found that fitting the barrels is fairly easy, even when doing it solo. However get a 2nd pair of hands to help you, line the rings up against the ring pegs in the groove, squeeze the ring in and the barrel should slip over with no problem.
Cheers Geoff

Spread a little 2 stroke oil around the rings and bottom of the cylinder to help them slide in.
Keeping old 2 strokes alive !
