The main is the main system from 3/4 to full throttle. If your surging below that, then it's your needle position.Odin wrote:It was the plunger!

now on Wednesday when I have the chance to ride I'll see if the larger main jet solved the surging engine when I try to maintain a constant speed.

When I increased the main jet I put the needle to the stock position.
Should I raise it or lower it. I'm so close to having her run properly (after a year) I can feel it.

I'll try that first.
it's weird, after my ride I noticed that my gas mileage has significantly decreased, she blubbers a bit upon acceleration and the/these symptoms begin after I have been riding for a half hour or so... in other words after the engine is hot.
my manual tells me that this is a sign of being to rich.
I will raise the needle first cause as you said, "be safe" but holy cow! anything over half throttle and she preform like a champ! I can totally feel the thrill in modifying these bikes for the track

Now that you're getting the jetting "fatter", you'll notice your fuel disappearing a lot quicker, Odin. High performance strokers are not air cooled.....they're "fuel-cooled", IMO. Just be glad you're not messing with an H1 or an H2. Your wallet would know REAL "fuel" pain, for sure.after my ride I noticed that my gas mileage has significantly decreased,
