Has this which I could do with for my 550J resto.
CLICKY LINKY
They are quoting $40 postage to the UK which is a killer, but what if someone in the US bought it and sent it to me (I would paypal the funds - natch!)
What would doing it that way cost? - I can get a new one for about $88 so might just bite the bullet.
Or has anyone got an early GT380/550/750 choke lever and base they want to sell?

that's ridiculous postage alan. that ts185 magneto i got from over the pond was only $18 post :( this is far, far lighter.
i presume you've seen the one that suzukisuzukisuzuki has for sale at £65 plus post? you could always use one off a bloop and normal clutch lever. not quite right but :D
cheers, dd.

Cheers DD. I'm still looking. I'm sure I have one in a 'safe place'........
It's not just the postage cost either, as our wonderful postage system looks at the declared price of the item in the package PLUS the price of postage and charges import tax on the combined cost, plus an extra £5 for doing it, so a $30 + $40 package might cost $110 here and has to be paid before I'm allowed to get the dam' thing. Barstewards.

I wonder if the seller would agree to you arranging the shipment and also to declare the item as 'gift' I think I may have avoided some duties like that before.

I'm sure I've got one 'somewhere'. The git must be hiding among all the [s]crap[/s] spares in the garage.
