This has been garaged for the past 16 years but prior to that appears to have stood out for a while..

So far we had discovered that:-

* cover from auto-lube pump is missing..
* inside of tank is obviously rusted BUT also contained about 1/4 lb of 'pickled' elderberries of an uncertain vintage!!??
* seat base is rotten through likely i guess as a result of split seat cover.
* 2 T oil tank is full !
* Gearbox oil is about half-way up the clutch cover
* Rear mudguard is 90% shot
* front mudguard is 80% shot
* forks pitted
* speedo supplied loose shows 12700 miles ( could it really be??)

Poured some lube that I was assured was diesel (thanks bro.) down the plug holes last night having removed the (Champion!)
- plugs will have a go at turn over the motor tonight. I feel like a 53 yr old school-boy - such fun!

Cheers

at least most of it is there.
are you restoring it or just doing it up to ride?
If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership

Just to ride - it will get new bits where needed (battery, tyres, brake hose etc.) and in due course I expect some kind of engine re-build (although I hope not to have to touch the gearbox..)
Cosmetics are low on the list atm but I might spring for some secondhand 'GT250' panel badges cos I like the glittery orange bits :)

Thanks. One of the other parts I may need are the instruments. In the box of bits that came with it are a speedo and tacho and mounting bracket but I have a feeling they could be
for an X7 - I will post a picture asap..
