T500 Oil Pump Testing
Can anyone tell me what speed you should run a T500 oil pump at when you do a bench test to check out if all the oil lines are operating correctly? Any info or a link about doing this would be much appreciated.

I spun mine with a flat screw bit on a drill. You have to spin it quite fast to get any real output. it was awkward but it worked.
I don't know about any kind of specification.

The GT750 oil pump rotates once every 62 rotations of the crank if that helps! Math was not my best subjet!

An exact RPM on the pump on your bench test does not really matter if you are just trying to see if the lines will eventually fill and flow out the check valves while you have the pump arm open all the way. Just make sure the pump has a steady oil supply. Also, it seems to me, that if the pumps horizontal 'worm' oil metering shaft or it's bore is overly worn then surplus CCI oil will be delivered due to additional oil passing around and into the metering shaft. At least I think that is what I was thinking a few years ago after taking apart a couple of spare pumps that had issues....I might have another look as to the workings of the pump. Now when it comes to a test for ideal discharge rate, I've never done it, but here it is ........... http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/techb ... 010-14.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="Syd wrote:Can anyone tell me what speed you should run a T500 oil pump at when you do a bench test to check out if all the oil lines are operating correctly?
