Ive ordered a set for my 76 Gt 550 off Ebay. How difficult are these to fit ? It looks like tank off then how much carb stripping is required ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave
No need to strip carbs. I remove airbox then unscrew carb to cylinder rubbers pull carbs off. Then reassemble. Make sure the clamps are tight on reassembly to stop air getting in.

If you are talking about the bellows for the carb slides, I believe you must remove the throttle shaft assembly from the top of the carbs, then remove the carb slide rods from the throttle arms to replace the bellows, when you reassemble you must sync the carbs again, this is done by adjusting the slide rods on the throttle arms.
You may want to look at throttle arms around the throttle shaft and make sure they are not cracked, 2 of mine where broke at the keyway.

I paid to have this job done didn't fancy tackling it on my own. Got the bellows off ebay £27 for 3. Slight problem removing one of the arms off the woodruff key that cracked and needed a weld. All fitted and balanced timing done as well. Runs like a dream total cost £154.

Cant blame you for that, I need to move needle clips, but keep putting it off because it is not a fun job taking apart.
Good to hear it is running good.

I replaced mine a few years back, they seem to have melted again. Why do they keep doing that?

An eBay seller in the UK sells pattern parts. They might be made of a modern material that stands up better.
