Suzuki 2 Strokes

Last time I rode the Buffalo, it ran awesome and everything worked great.

Went out and turned the key on and it was dead as a door nail. No lights, no clicks. The battery reads 13 volts and change. Battery terminals are clean and tight.

I am not sure why but for some reason I have a feeling it is the Ignition switch.

Before I start taking lots of things apart does anyone have any suggestions for trouble shooting?

Did you check the fuse behind the left cover.
I was riding my 250 when everything went dead, I found my fuse holder had broke. On my 750 the contact in the ignition switch went bad and had to replace the switch, You can check if you have power on red wire to ignition switch, and power on orange wire coming from switch.
Do you have good power when ignition is on or does it drop. A few weeks ago I had one showed 13 volts till I turned on ignition and drop to 7 volts, had to replace battery.

I'll start with the fuse and then go to the switch. When I turned the key on the voltage at the battery didn't drop at all.

Not sure if it is the same on the Kettle but on the GT380 the ignition switch has a multipin connector behind the headlamp. Worth checking that it is ok.

The 750 should have a 4 pin connector with a red orange brown grey wire, this is where I would check for power, you can check at ignition switch but it is much harder to access.

Just got in from working on the bike. Wayne, the guy that did most of the work on the bike replaced the main wiring harness and lot of the electrical parts, including installing modified Dyna Electronic Ignitions for Harley's. One of things he did not change, most likely because they aren't available, was the glass fuse holder under the left side cover as mentioned above.

I cut the holder out of the circuit and spliced in a modern flat fuse set up. It should be good to go for another 40 years now. LOL
