Oh no- yet another mystery part!

Post by Evans Ward »

Found this strange part in the bottom of my drain pan after draining gear oil on the GT750A. I also replaced all engine covers on the bike, replaced the water pump, and had all the pipes off. I will not replace gear oil and coolant until this part is identified. Please help if you can- thanks!

When you drained the oil did you remove the bolt that was at at angle? Because that part is the detent plunger which is a stopper in the gearbox. Part number 25351-30010 .
The oil drain bolt is next to the angled bolt and is level with bottom of the engine

Yes, I did unscrew the wrong plug by accident. How does this orient with the plug and spring? Thanks for helping!

EDIT: did a search and found out proper orientation. Will fix this and then on to refilling gear oil and coolant. I always say "the search feature is your friend!"
