Need ID on a part- is it off GT750A?

Post by Evans Ward »

Found this small set screw in the well area under the carbs on my GT750A. Appears to be some sort of set screw. Is it off the GT750 and if so, what is it and where does it go? Thanks!

Looking at the thread pitch, I would say it's to course to have been fitted to these bikes.

^ thanks for the observation! My thought is that the prior owner may have been working on something with that piece flying away.

I wonder i they did my modification to the case for the water pump shaft. Look near the side of the starter motors two bolts for a hole.

Thanks Allan! I will check next time I'm in that area. I did a search and read up on your mod there which seems like a good thing.

Whatever it is, it isn't an OEM part. It looks like the sort of grub screw that is used to block off SRIS lines or injection lines. If yours are all intact, then it may be the Alan water pump block off or maybe not from that bike at all.

Figured it out! It goes to a bracket/ brace for my Slipstreamer windshield. Glad that mystery is solved!
