Just for interest

Post by Alan H »

Here's a link to the first post I did on Kettle clinic forum CLICKY LINKY. have a look and take note of the prices on the Crooks Suzuki quote for bits needed after my 'off' back in 1972. Multiply things by 'lots' for current prices.
Pity I didn't know then what I know now and stash a few crates of spares........
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Have an old printed dealership parts manual for a 1969 T350 that shows the suggested retail prices.
Some suggested retail prices:
$34.18 gas tank
$7.53 petcock
$23.93 muffler

Haha, that's excellent.

Using an online inflation calculator, the £19.35 for a new RHS exhaust in 1972 is equivalent to £240 now. £240 ain't cheap - but try finding an NOS pipe today!

Which means the whole bill for repair was about £2,450 in today's money.
1976 GT380 - wounded by me, and sold on
2006 SV650S - killed by a patch of diesel and a kerb in Feb 2019
2017 SV650 AL7 - naked and unashamed
